7 Healthy Snacks That Help You Lose Weight

If you’re trying to lose weight, there are two things you should always remember: First, your diet is key to getting the results you want, and second, snacks are just as important as meals. The truth of the matter is that if you don’t keep your body fed properly throughout the day, you’ll start to feel lethargic and weak and your cravings will take over, causing you to give in to temptation and eat things that won’t help you meet your weight loss goals.

1) Apples

Apples are great snacks that can help you lose weight. They’re full of fiber, which will make you feel fuller without packing on too many calories. Try slicing one into a salad, or try eating it with peanut butter for a quick low-calorie bite to eat.

2) Nuts and Seeds

According to Harvard Medical School, nuts are a rich source of protein, fiber, minerals, and healthful fats that can help keep hunger at bay. Walnuts in particular contain alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which may help lower cholesterol levels. In one study published in Nutrition Research, overweight adults who ate almonds lost more weight than those who followed a control diet.

Eating yogurt regularly can also help lower your risk of osteoporosis and improve gut health. Mix in some fresh fruit, honey, or cinnamon for extra flavor!
